As temperatures drop and the first flakes of snow draw near, the city of Chickasha is getting in the holiday spirit. Standley Systems is sponsoring this year’s holiday hay bale display to kick off the annual Festival of Lights. To spread the holiday cheer, we teamed up with a local artist to display nearly 250 unique hay bales around Chickasha.
Standley Systems’ Co-owner Tim Elliott originally started this idea in hopes of starting a holiday tradition all families can enjoy. The company donated their time and funds for the holiday hay bales as a way to give back to a community that has contributed to the business’ history and success. Carrie Chavers, former high school art teacher and artist at the Chickasha Art Center, spent six weeks designing and painting the displays. During the creative process, Chavers enlisted the help of a dozen Standley’s volunteers to help pre-plan, pick up and set up the hay bales.
